Physical Science

For 5 points of extra credit

• Watch an episode of “Smash Lab” on the Discovery Channel
• Write 2 paragraphs about what you saw and what they did
  • Be sure to include
    • What they were trying to do
    • What you might have done different
    • What was there design like
    • Did their design work

This extra credit can be done for up to 4 episodes per semester.

For 30 points of extra credit-

• Take a few pieces of mentos breath mints—do not buy the candy coated ones—buy the old fashioned regualar minty type ones—then, drop them into a 2 liter bottle of diet coke.
• Take a picture of what happens—you will need to be quick with the camera—using a friend to help you would not be a bad idea.
• Attach the picture to a paragraph that you write about the experiment. 
  • The paragraph should contain
    • Exactly what you did step by step.
    • The results of what happened.
• BE SURE TO DO THIS EXPERIMENT OUTDOORS.
