Test on 2/28!!!

Don’t forget to study for the test on February 28!  The test contains 26 Multiple Choice Questions, 9 Matching questions—in this section you will be required to label groups from the periodic table as metals, nonmetals, metalloids, or diatomic molecules, and finally there is another 15 matching questions—in this section I will give you the use of an element and you will match it to the element. 

This is an open book-open notes test, so please be sure to bring your materials to class with you.

Don’t forget, the end of the 9 weeks is almost here!  Get your make up work, late work, and any extra credit assignments in before next Friday!

Naming Ionic Compounds

Due on Tuesday–Naming Ionic Compounds and Electron Dot Diagram worksheet PLUS page 600 1-10.

TEST IS ON TUESDAY FEBRUARY 12.

Assignment from 2/7/2008

Due on Friday of this week is the notetaking worksheet for chapter 19.  The test has been pushed back to Tuesday of next week because of the snow day.

Electron Dot Diagrams

Your assignment due on February 5 is to draw “Electron Dot Diagrams” for the first 20 Elements.  If you have trouble remembering where the electrons go, check out this website!  It gives you the step by steps!

Due February 6 are definitions A-M on page 599.

SMASH LAB

 

For 5 points of extra credit

  • Watch an episode of “Smash Lab” on the Discovery Channel
  • Write 2 paragraphs about what you saw and what they did
    • Be sure to include
      • What they were trying to do
      • What you might have done different
      • What was there design like
      • Did their design work

This extra credit can be done for up to 4 episodes per semester.
